Trivia Night FAQ’s

What is Trivia Night?

Trivia Night is Robinson PTO’s largest fundraiser. It is an adults-only event that combines a silent auction with eight rounds of trivia. There will also be signups for both kid-centered and adult parties, a gift card wall, and other fun games and raffles throughout the evening.

When and where is it?

Friday, February 28th at the Kirkwood Community Center. The doors will open at 6:00 and the event begins at 7:00.

Will it be fun?

YES. Trivia Night is always a well-attended and VERY fun event.

Will it be expensive?

You can spend as much or as little as you’d like. There will be silent auction items beginning at $10 and some that go for a few hundred dollars. The parties are also very reasonably priced. (Of course, we’d like everyone to spend a little money so that we can help out our Robinson staff and students!)

How much are tickets?

Tickets are $25 per person or $200 for a full table of eight people.

I’m new to Robinson / I don’t know many families. Do I have to purchase an entire table?

You do not have to purchase an entire table to attend Trivia Night. If you purchase single tickets, we will do our best to pair you with families who have children in the same grade as yours. No matter what, you’ll be sitting with nice people!

What should I wear?

This year’s theme is “Campout”, and many groups will decorate their table and come in costume. Dressing up is fun, but it is also not required. You are welcome to come as you are and enjoy the fun!

Will food and drinks be provided?

There will be some beverages provided, but tables typically bring their own food and drinks. (Alcohol is allowed in the community center.)

What should I bring with me?

Bring along food and drinks for your table as well as some cash for our raffles and gift card wall. We will be asking everyone to vault their credit cards ahead of time to help speed up the check- in process.

What if I’m really bad at trivia?

Not a problem. The purpose of this evening is to have fun and help raise money for our students and staff.

What if I’m really good at trivia?

Awesome! The winning table will have their entry fee of $200 reimbursed.

I own a small business/work for a company that would like to be a sponsor. What should I do?

We love our round sponsors, and this is an excellent way to promote your business. You can purchase a sponsorship at the $100, $250, $500, or $1000 level. Each comes with its own set of perks. Please contact Jenny Wippermann at robinsontrivia@gmail.com for more information.

My family would like to donate an item or an experience to the silent auction. Who do I contact?

We are always excited to receive donations from our wonderful Robinson families. These can include tickets to sporting events, shows, or concerts; stays at vacation homes or timeshares; unique behind the scenes tours or experiences; or physical items. If you have a personal or professional connection and can help out with a donation, please contact Jenny Wippermann at robinsontrivia@gmail.com

I would like to host a party (for students or adults). Who do I contact?

If you and a group of friends would be interested in hosting a party, please contact Lauren Nieman, at robinsontrivia@gmail.comAs the host, you get to determine how many guests may attend, how to charge for the party (per person, per couple, per family), and when and where it takes place. Parties do not have to be super-elaborate; it’s just fun to have an excuse to get people together!

** Please note that the money raised from the parties goes to Robinson, not the hosts.

I’d like to help out with this event. Is it too late to volunteer?

It’s never too late to get involved! You can still help with event planning or simply volunteer to help out the day of Trivia Night. Contact Jenny Wippermann at robinsontrivia@gmail.com for more information.

Where does all of my money go, anyhow?

All of the proceeds from Trivia Night go to Robinson PTO, which in turn uses the money to provide stipends and grants to teachers, to fund our outdoor learning centers, to provide community-building events, to help cover the cost of large-ticket school improvement projects, and to assist in meeting the needs of our students and staff wherever possible. We typically have a paddle raise each year to help fund a larger item.
