The new playground - purchased in part by funds raised from Trivia Night 2023 - has been a wildly successful and popular addition to our childrens’ home away from home!!

From the very start, KSD, Keysor staff, and PTO knew that creating this playground would be an accessible and fun addition for all students, and that remains at the forefront of our goal!

The PTO Board and the Trivia Night Committee aim to improve this space, particularly as the newly added playground and turf have highlighted the mulch as a source of inconvenience.

If you have been up to the new playground, you may have noticed that the mulch from the neighboring shaded table area spills over onto the sidewalk and turf in the playground area, as illustrated in the photos below. It’s not only a constant mess – it’s also an accessibility and safety issue.

Turf will create:

• An accessible and safer route to the playground for all students
• A clean sidewalk and playground area, free of mulch chunks that don’t belong
• A durable, low-maintenance green space for kids to hang out

In addition to the turf, we are raising funds to purchase a Lion Mascot for Keysor Elementary!

What could be more fun for our Keysor students than having a friendly Lion to greet them on the first day of school, cheer them on at Fun Runs or the KSD Cross Country Meet, to be part of school assemblies and so much more?? The possibilities are endless with a mascot, and it will be sure to bring so much joy to our students and school!!

We have a team researching the best option for Keysor, and pending a successful Paddle Raise, our Lion will find its way home to the Keysor Pride this school year!
